چکیده
A word should be said as to the theoretically important question whether the reciprocal crosses differ in their results. No consistent difference is observable. Eight of the 31 F, cows (indicated by an asterisk in table 1) had Guernsey dams while 23 had Holstein dams. In their first lactation period the cows with Guernsey dams gave less milk but more butter-fat, average 6953 pounds of milk, 287 pounds of butter-fat. But in the second lactation period, three cows with Guernsey dams give a little more than the average amount of milk with exactly the average amount of butter-fat. It seems unlikely, therefore, that any sex-linked factors are concerned in the case.

Scaling relations in dynamical evolution of star clusters
We have carried out a series of small scale collisional N-body calculations of single-mass star clusters to investigate the dependence of the lifetime of star clusters on their initial parameters. Our models move through an external galaxy potential with a logarithmic density profile and they are limited by a cut-off radius. In order to find scaling relations between the lifetime of star cluste...
متن کاملStellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups
It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...
متن کاملحل منحنیهای نوری و مطالعه نقش میدانهای مغناطیسی در تغییرات پریود سیستم UV Leo
The solutions of photometric BV light curves for the Algol like system UV Leo were obtained using Wilson-Devinney code. The physical and orbital parameters along with absolute dimensions of the system were determined. It has been found that to best fit the V light curve of the system, assumptions of three dark spots were necessary two on the secondary and one on the primary. The absolute visual...
متن کاملAstronomy : Shapley and Nicholson on the Spectral Lines of a Pulsating Star by Harlow Shapley and Seth B
The hypothesis that the periodic variations in light and spectrum of a Cepheid variable are due to radial expansion and contraction of a single stellar body demands a behavior in the periodic oscillation of the spectral lines which is decidedly different from the behavior of the absorption lines of an ordinary spectroscopic binary star. In the latter case the line-shifts show, in accordance wit...
متن کاملRelativistic Stellar Models with Quadratic Equation of State
In this paper, we have obtained and presented new relativistic stellar configurations considering an anisotropic fluid distribution with a charge distribution and a gravitational potential Z(x) that depends on an adjustable parameter. The quadratic equation of state based on Feroze and Siddiqui viewpoint is used for the matter distribution. The new solutions can be written in terms of elementar...
